These graphs are the result of Michael Young’s research into how the circadian rhythm of organisms is regulated by particular genes in our cells. In his studies, Michael Young used fruit flies. The graphs, from 1984, show the cyclical nature of activity and rest in fruit flies with different genomes.
Michael Young donated the graphs to the Nobel Prize Museum in 2017.
